Spectrum has an interview with Perlman that discusses how OnLive came into being, his thoughts on his competitors, and how often OnLive will update its hardware.
Another take on why OnLive is really geared for the customers (i.e. Microsoft and Sony) and not the gamers (for now). Essentially, the costs of the infrastructure behind the game service is tremendous and OnLive may need to be bought out in order to cover these costs. This may explain why OnLive has only stated a launch in the continental US so far.
This article does a good job of summarizing OnLive’s birth to it’s announcement at the GDC. One thing that is worth noting is that OnLive is capable of far more applications than gaming, but Perlman is focusing on gaming for now.

It makes sense that OnLive, or any other cloud gaming service for that matter, probably won’t see much success. At least not yet. The technology behind cloud gaming is very new and far from being perfect. According Crytek’s research, OnLive won’t be very feasible until 2013.
We already mentioned Google and Microsoft, but Keith Boesky, former Eidos president, believes that Apple may have interest in the game service company as well.
Very interesting development. Gaikai, which is a direct competitor to OnLive, states that their game service is better than OnLive’s.
